We circulate in a bank of regrets.
Of the things we wished we had said, of the things we wished we had not said.
We are swimming in a giant pool of regrets.
Of the things we wished we had done, of the things we wished we had not done.
The thing about regret is, it follows after: You wished you had known earlier. You wished it had come with a precaution.
Those heartbreaks, failed exams, over-priced goods, wasted time, wrong decisions, missed opportunities.
Regret is, in fact, a gift. A gift that reminds you of your standing position. A gift that reminds you to be the true slave, not a slave of ego. A gift so you would understand meanings. A gift to learn, the hard way.
Thing is, it did came with a precaution. We were just too ignorant.
Because regret is a gift, only for now: where second chances are available.
Turn back to Allaah, before the time comes when regret has no value.
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, “Oh, I wish that I were dust!”
