Mental health is currently a trending topic, be it in academic situations, personal blogs or even family gatherings.
In a disruptive era where informations spread within the tips of your finger, innovations launch endlessly.. it becomes important to take care of one's state of heart.
That night, I was panicking. Short preparation time for OSCE, sudden instruction to fly back to Jakarta and post-exchange workloads were an overwhelming combination. But Allah The Almighty settled calmness inside my heart through a writing from my ustazah (Arabic word that means a female teacher).
She is a hafizah (Arabic word that means a person who memorizes the Quran), pursuing masters degree in psychology.

“Came across a resourceful website on mental health. www.mind.org.uk. Amongst the topics discussed are: anger, anxiety, suicide, drugs, depression, stress, panic attack, etc.
This sparked my interest to look into the psychological dynamics of Abraham (PBUH), the father of the prophets.
In his youth, he stood against the current by calling the statues-worshipping society towards tauhid (that is there is no God but Allah). After his marriage, he awaited years for a child to bear. When he became a father, he was commanded to leave his loved wife and son in a deserted valley. Yet after his dear son grew into a young man, he was asked to sacrifice his son.
Abraham (PBUH), along with emotionally traumatic hardships he faced, did not only endured but emerged as one of the names we glorify. Allah, The Almighty, explained his condition in a Quran verse:
"when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them (perfectly)” (Al Baqarah 2:124)
What is the key to his composure? Hanifan Musliman (that he remain righteous and surrender to Allah completely).
The story of Abraham teaches not merely of Qurban (sacrifice). But a true example of a well, tranquil yet solid state of mind.“
